The Dilemma: The Bingo Hall versus Online Bingo
Almost each and every one of us has played at least one game of bingo in our lifetime. This is not surprising as the game is invented hundreds of years ago and has been around ever since to provide inexpensive entertainment for everyone. Bingo's popularity grew gradually until the 1920's when it was brought to America where its fame grew by leaps and bounds.
Bingo halls were then born because large venues were needed to accommodate the large throngs of people flocking to the town centers to play bingo. The advent of the bingo hall signaled a new beginning for the bingo as it was not merely a parlor game anymore; it was a celebrated social event on its own.
Pretty soon the bingo halls themselves had a life of there own. The capacity of the halls grew in size as more and more people got into playing bingo; decorations got increasingly lavish along with the growing capacity and before long the bingo callers were doubling as variety show hosts as bingo halls provided entertainment to players.
People playing the game continued to swell in numbers as these gimmicks served their purpose well of fanning further the bingo craze to attract new players.
Like the bingo hall before it, the arrival of the internet pretty much revolutionized the way people play bingo. The Internet has transformed the lifestyle of people everywhere as it allowed people to do most things at the click of a button.
Like playing bingo.
In the same way the bingo hall provided a new dimension to the game in its beginnings in the United States at the turn of the 20th century, so did the online casinos which provided players a new way to play and enjoy their favorite game that is bingo - which is to play bingo on the comforts of one's home.
So which one is the better choice for someone who can't make up his mind where to play bingo?
Well, like other things in life, it's a matter of choice.
Playing online bingo may seem to be stupid and a terrible waste of time for some who argue that online bingo takes away an important aspect of bingo which is social interaction. While this may be true for them, some people really do find considerable advantage in playing online bingo. Such people simply enjoy the game on its own, sans the sights and sounds that a traditional bingo hall offers. They are quite contented playing online bingo on the solace and quiet of their own abode.
Bingo halls on the other hand, offer quite the opposite. Playing in bingo halls present the greatest degree of social interaction as halls are often jam-packed full of people. Add to this the performances and the different promos that add fun and excitement in playing the simple game of bingo.
Bingo halls, however, has downsides other than being noisy and disorderly. These are the limited games, which in turn only payout limited winnings and other things that pertain to money as it is constrained by the gambling laws of the place where the bingo hall is.
So you ask which of online bingo and traditional bingo (symbolized by bingo halls) is better. As mentioned earlier, it is all up to you. Bingo will always be bingo maybe it the online bingo now or the one played at the bingo halls of yesteryears.
Whatever its incarnation may be, it will always be the bingo that we learned to love through the years.
